Silk Bamboo Tree FAQ

Many of our customers have questions about our artificial bamboo, so we compiled a list of the most common ones you might have.

How Do I Care for My Silk Bamboo Tree?

When it comes to knowing how to clean your artificial bamboo tree, we recommend that silk bamboo be dusted much the same as you dust your home or office. Most artificial bamboo can also be wiped with a damp cloth if necessary.

First, take the silk bamboo plant outside and dust it with a feather duster. This will remove most of the dust and prime your silk bamboo for cleaning. Then, test the plant with your tap water — remove one leaf from an inconspicuous portion of your bamboo silk plant, rinse it with tap water then shake it out. After a few minutes, check the leaf to see if it's clean and the shine has returned. If so, you can give it a bath.

Cover your pot and filler with plastic for protection from the water. Make sure your silk bamboo tree or plant is on a clean surface near a water hose. Use the spray nozzle on your hose and spray your plant thoroughly with a light spray. When you're done, shake it lightly to get most of the water off and allow it to dry in the sun for a few hours.

Your bamboo silk tree should be thoroughly cleaned every three to six months. In between, we recommend regular dusting with a good feather duster to keep your artificial bamboo looking fresh and new.

Are Your Silk Bamboo Trees Really "Silk"?

No. "Silk" is an industry term that is still used today even though genuine silk is no longer used to craft faux flowers. Our products are made of a variety of materials, including plastic, polyester and nylon, that allow our artificial bamboo trees to look as authentic as the real thing.
